Oh what a night!

Today was pretty much ours. We had to pack and get ready to go to France, but we had enough time to go exploring and go to a show. I REALLY wanted to go see Jersey Boys (as I was robbed of my opportunity in Washington, DC…basically…I got the date wrong and pretty much showed up for the show the day AFTER my tickets were booked for…oops…) so a group of us gathered at the box office to get tickets. Prior to, I got to meet up with one of my best friends from growing up years who is now a card carrying equity actor for broadway shows! He was about to audition for a show so I’m glad I got to meet up with him, even for a few minutes.
Jersey boys rocked, and it just made the trip even better. 3 shows…3 days. I love new york! We made it to the airport, and got all checked in. The only decent thing available for dinner was McDonalds…Little did I know how often I’d be eating McDees in the coming weeks…Jumped on the plane and we were off! Red Eye flights really are the best…(I hope you notice my sarcasm…)

Anything can happen if you let it

Today we had a bunch of free time in comparison with Monday. We had a visit with a PR firm in midtown and tried the Shake Shack (great shakes btw). Then we headed to Times Square and Central Park (as it was the 3rd time I had been to NYC…and had never been inside the park…) A few of us decided to go to Mary Poppins while the rest of the group either went random places or to the Yankees Game (I would have done Yankees…but didn’t really want to pay more than about…5 bucks for a ticket…k I’m cheap I know.) Anyway, it was a great day. Central Park is gorgeous, and I’d love to spend more time there sometime. We ended up on 5th avenue and checked out the Plaza and the apple store. New York really is unlike any other place. And I love it. Mary was quite contrary and she flew across the audience! (I knew it…it was actually my 2nd time) haha but it was a great show. And I could understand their british accents this time. Spent the evening in Times Square… Man, I love NYC.

Only in New York, New York, New York...

Day one. We are seriously running everywhere to fit everything in! But I Love it! We started with a meeting at American Express, and they are definitely my new favorite card of choice. (hence…favorite…). We walked around battery park a little bit, and made our way through trinity church and wall street. Definitely re-enacted national treasure (the movie). We grabbed lunch and then headed to Johnson and Johnson for a second business visit. I had no idea they made so many products! We had class, and then finally made it to People’s Pops which is a newer company that makes homemade
“frozen pops” with local produce. Random flavors like…raspberry basil, sour plum and cherry, and strawberry rhubarb. Tried all 3…liked all 3. Little weird…but actually really good. Explored 5th avenue for a few minutes and then made it to our group FHE activity…A BROADWAY SHOW! We got to go to “In the Heights.” I had no idea what to expect, and it was great! Definitely a new style of musical. We actually saw “Todd” from Zoolander outside the theater too. Random. Spent another night in Times Square. Man, I love this city.

And so it begins...

And so it begins! A 27 day trip around the world! For those of you that don’t know, I am going on a Global Marketing Study Abroad that will literally allow me to circumnavigate the globe. We’ll fly from SLC to New York (where we are now), and then go to France, Switzerland, Italy, China, and finally Japan. I’m so excited! The 21 person group is amazing, and we all get along really well. We started by running (literally) from our hotel to the temple where we were served a wonderful dinner and had a great fireside with the head of the PR department. He has seen some amazing things in his corporate and church experiences. So cool! To end things for the day, we passed Lincoln Center, and walked through Times Square…and even met a guy selling Obama Condoms. Not sure what to think of that. They have John McCain Condoms too…a..w..k..w..a..r..d. Anyway. Its going to be a great trip!

I made it!

Well, grades finally posted yesterday for the Spring Term. First, I know I'm crazy. I took (finished) 99% of an independent study course, took 7 credits (which is the equivalent of 14 credits for a normal semester), and started a 4 credit internship (thats 14 credits...28 if in a real semester) all in one term. I did really well! I got 3 A's and a B+...and the only reason I got a B+ is because I bombed a few mini quizzes in the class. Bummer. Anyway, I've officially taken my GPA from a 2.9 (Fall semester 2004) to a 3.51! And, chances are, by the time I graduate I'll hit a 3.6 or even higher. Quite exciting. So, to celebrate, I think I'll go to New York tomorrow. And then Paris next Thursday. Do you think thats a fitting reward? I do :-)

OK...I'm a sucky blogger

Well, needless to say, there is a lot going on and I've been a notably sucky blogger. I don't know how many people actually read this anyway. Haha.

So, I was thinking how excited I am to graduate from school next April...so I got a countdown calculator (see side of blog). Only 9 months to go. Thank goodness! But there is A LOT that is scheduled to happen over those 9 months.

I was blog-stalking people today and I came across one of my good friend's blogs. She wrote about a service project we did together (which wouldn't have been possible without her btw) and noted how nuts I was..that my mind is always going a million miles an hour. Well, she is pretty write.
